Biography

Jonathan Glassner is an American TV screenwriter, producer, and director who came to prominence in the 1990s for his work on the cult sci-fi series "Stargate SG-1." Glassner began his career in television in the late 1980s as a writer on the revived "Alfred Hitchcock Presents" thriller anthology series. With his reputation as a screenwriter growing, he took a post as staff writer and producer on the high school-set police drama "21 Jump Street." In 1995 he moved on to another revival, taking a large role in the rebooting of the classic science-fiction anthology "The Outer Limits." While working on that short-lived series, Glassner began developing a TV series based on the 1994 film "Stargate." Partnering with fellow screenwriter Brad Wright, Glassner built the show and helmed it as executive producer for the first three of its 10 seasons. Following that success, Glassner moved to the spin-off hit "C.S.I.: Miami."
