Biography
Errol John found incredible success as an accomplished actor, appearing in a variety of films throughout his Hollywood career. Early on in his acting career, John landed roles in various films, including the Trevor Howard drama "The Heart of the Matter" (1954), the action picture "Simba" (1955) with Dirk Bogarde and "Odongo" (1956) with Rhonda Fleming. He also appeared in "The Nun's Story" (1959). He kept working in film throughout the sixties, starring in the Angie Dickinson dramatic adaptation "The Sins of Rachel Cade" (1961), "PT109" (1963) and the Richard Attenborough drama "Guns at Batasi" (1964). He also appeared in the Robert Mitchum dramatic adaptation "The Man in the Middle" (1964). During the latter part of his career, he tackled roles in "Assault on a Queen" (1966), the Sidney Poitier western "Buck and the Preacher" (1972) and the adventure "Sheena" (1984) with Tanya Roberts. He also was featured in the TV movie "The Last Days of Patton" (CBS, 1986-87). John more recently appeared in "The Big Knife" (PBS, 1987-88).
