Alberta Hunter built up her entertainment career by putting her musical skills to use in the world of Hollywood. Early in her entertainment career, Hunter's music was featured in "Remember My Name" (1978) and "The Laundromat" (HBO, 1984-85). Later, Hunter acted in "A Radiant Center" (1985-86), "Alberta Hunter: My Castle's Rockin'" (PBS, 1987-88) and "John Hammond: From Bessie Smith to Bruce Springsteen" (PBS, 1989-1990). Hunter's music was most recently featured in the horror sequel "Mimic Sentinel" (2003) with Amanda Plummer. Hunter passed away in October 1984 at the age of 89.
