Missy "Misdemeanor" Elliott worked in a variety of genres and built up a diverse and reputable career. Elliott worked on a variety of projects during her early entertainment career, including "Any Given Sunday" with Al Pacino (1999), "Booty Call" (1997), "Can't Hardly Wait" (1998) starring Jennifer Love Hewitt, "Nothing to Lose" with Martin Lawrence (1997), "Soul Food" (1997) starring Vanessa Williams and "Varsity Blues" (1999). In the early 2000s, Elliott devoted her time to various credits, such as "Moulin Rouge" with Nicole Kidman (2001), "Pootie Tang" (2001) starring Lance Crouther, "Brown Sugar" (2002) and "The Transporter" with Jason Statham (2002).
