Biography

Vivacious stage-trained actor-singer-dancer who gained some attention playing Vivian Banks, the sensible aunt of Will Smith, for the first three seasons of the popular sitcom "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" (NBC, 1990-93). Hubert-Whitten made her professional debut in the national touring company of "Dancin'" before landing on Broadway in the original cast of "Cats." She segued to TV as a recurring character on the daytime soap "One Life to Live." Hubert went on to various TV guest spots ("Hooperman," "Tales from the Crypt," "Reasonable Doubts") until snaring a stint as a sitcom regular. Since leaving "Fresh Prince" after a dispute with the star, Hubert has appeared on the sitcoms "Coach" and "Dave's World" and played a supporting role on the direct-to-video sci-fi thriller "New Eden" (1994).
