Biography
Barrie Houghton was an actor who had a successful Hollywood career. He additionally landed roles in the TV movies "The Nativity" (1978-79), "Gauguin the Savage" (CBS, 1979-1980) and "The Day Christ Died" (CBS, 1979-1980). He also landed roles in movies like "Flame" (1975) and "In the Forest" (1978). He also landed a role in the miniseries "A.D." (1984-85). Following that project, he appeared in the horror movie "Horror Planet" (1980) with Robin Clarke, the Clint Eastwood action picture "Firefox" (1982) and the Elvis Payne drama "Fords on Water" (1983). He also starred in the TV movies "The Scarlet Pimpernel" (CBS, 1982-83) and "Gulag" (HBO, 1984-85). Houghton's more recent roles included the crime picture "Lassiter" (1984) with Tom Selleck, the John Malkovich historical drama "Empire of the Sun" (1987) and the Emily Lloyd period drama "Wish You Were Here" (1987). He also had parts in the miniseries "Harem" (1985-86), "The Man Who Lived at the Ritz" (1988-89) and "War and Remembrance" (1988-89). Houghton more recently acted on "Die Kinder" (PBS, 1990-91).
