He also was featured in the miniseries "Sins" (1985-86), "King of the Olympics: The Lives and Loves of Avery Brundage" (1987-88) and "Napoleon and Josephine: A Love Story" (1987-88). He also appeared in "War and Remembrance" (1988-89). Following that project, he acted on the silver screen, including roles in "Road to Ruin" (1991) and "Transit" (1991). He also starred in the TV movies "Big Bang" (1989-1990) and "Framed" (HBO, 1989-1990). In the nineties and the early 2000s, he then appeared in the drama "In Praise of Love" (2002) with Bruno Putzulu. He also was featured in the TV movie "Lethal Exposure" (NBC, 1992-93). Doherty most recently acted in the dramatic adaptation "Marie Antoinette" (2006) with Kirsten Dunst.
