He also was featured in the miniseries "Peter and Paul" (1980-81), "Smiley's People" (1982-83) and "Mussolini: The Untold Story" (1985-86). He also landed roles in various films, such as the Alan Shearman comedy "Bullshot" (1983) and the dramatic biopic "Cry Freedom" (1987) with Kevin Kline. His work around this time also included a part on the TV movie "The Plot to Kill Hitler" (CBS, 1989-1990). He also landed roles in the miniseries "Napoleon and Josephine: A Love Story" (1987-88) and "Band of Brothers" (2001).
