Biography
Burton Cummings brought his musical talents to a variety of films over the course of his Hollywood career. Cummings began his entertainment career with his music featured in films like the romance "Voices" (1978) with Michael Ontkean, "Curtains" (1983) and the Jim Carrey dramatic comedy "The Cable Guy" (1996). Though known first for his music, Cummings also acted in "Melanie" (1983). In the nineties and the early 2000s, Cummings's music continued to appear on the silver screen, including in films like the Kevin Spacey hit comedic drama "American Beauty" (1999), the Mike Myers hit comedy sequel "Austin Powers: the Spy Who Shagged Me" (1999) and the Don McKellar dramedy "Last Night" (1999). His work was also in "Almost Famous" (2000). Cummings's music was also featured in the Seth Rogen blockbuster comedy "Superbad" (2007) and the comedic drama "Take this Waltz" (2012) with Michelle Williams. Most recently, Cummings appeared on "Supermensch: The Legend of Shep Gordon" (2014) with Alice Cooper.
