Cote kickstarted his acting career in various films such as the Thierry Fremont dramatic adventure "Travelling avant" (1987), "Der Kuss des Tigers" (1988) and "La Bande des quatre" (1989). He also appeared in "La Vengeance d'une femme" (1990), "Nouvelle Vague" (1990) with Alain Delon and "L' Amour en deux" (1991). He continued to work steadily in film throughout the nineties, appearing in the Marianne Denicourt dramatic comedy "Up/Down/Fragile" (1995), the Stephane Audran dramatic adaptation "Au petit Marguery" (1996) and "Encore" (1996) with Jackie Berroyer. He also appeared in "Les Voleurs" (1996) with Catherine Deneuve, the comedy "Romaine" (1997) with Agnes Obadia and the Stanton Miranda drama "Souvenir" (1998). In his more recent career, he continued to act in the comedic drama "Je regle mon pas sur le pas de mon pere" (1999) with Guillaume Canet, "La Vie est dure, nous aussi" (1999) and "Praha Ocima" (1999).
