Biography

Actor Danny Hassel's most notable roles in a brief career came in two of the extremely popular "A Nightmare on Elm Street" sequels. After making his television debut as a guest star on the short-lived cop show "Houston Knights," Hassel's first film part was as plucky jock Dan Jordan, a teenager stalked by razor-gloved boogeyman Freddy Krueger in 1988's "A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master." Along with his sidekick-turned-girlfriend Alice Johnson (Lisa Wilcox), Hassel's character survived long enough to return for the following year's "A Nightmare on Elm Street: The Dream Child." Those were the only films Hassel appeared in: otherwise, his acting appearances were limited to small television guest parts, most prophetically as a soldier in an episode of the mystery series "Murder, She Wrote." Following his role in an episode of the short-lived juvenile delinquents drama "The Outsiders," Hassel stopped acting altogether. Following the attacks of September 11, 2001, he enrolled in the military. After being discharged, he returned to television on the reality series "Devil's Brigade," undergoing the same training as the 1942 commando unit of the same name. Since then, Hassel has avoided publicity or interviews, aside from appearing in a 2010 video documentary about the "Elm Street" series' legacy.
