Biography
Born and raised in California, Martin Cohan was a television writer and producer most renowned for co-creating the sitcoms "Who's the Boss?" and "Silver Spoons." Cohan became a writer during the early 1970s, initially penning episodes of "The Odd Couple" and "The Mary Tyler Moore Show." He also worked on "The Partridge Family," "All in the Family," and "The Bob Newhart Show," becoming a producer on the latter series in '73. During '78, Cohan co-wrote the TV movie "Flying High," and the stewardess-centric film was spun off into a short-lived TV show of the same name. Cohan next worked on "Diff'rent Strokes" as a writer and producer, penning more than 30 episodes of the popular series. In '82, Cohan co-created the sitcom "Silver Spoons" and wrote more than 100 episodes of family show during the course of its five seasons. While "Silver Spoons" was at its peak in '84, Cohan unveiled another TV creation, "Who's the Boss?," which proved to be another hit comedy series. After "Who's the Boss?" ended in '92, Cohan retired, and he died in 2010, fondly remembered for his many comedy contributions.
