Hardwick began his career with roles in the Marilyn Monroe comedic adaptation "The Prince and the Showgirl" (1957) and the dramatic adaptation "A Man For All Seasons" (1966) with Paul Scofield. Hardwick next focused his career on film, appearing in the dramatic adaptation "The Deadly Affair" (1967) with James Mason, the adaptation "The Long Duel" (1967) with Yul Brynner and the dramatic adaptation "Romeo & Juliet" (1968) with Laurence Olivier. He also appeared in the Charlton Heston adaptation "Julius Caesar" (1971). Later in his career, Hardwick acted in the Roger Moore action flick "Octopussy" (1983).
