Biography

Television editor and producer Peter Chakos's first gig was a steady one, putting together the post-production elements of the long-running classic sitcom "Cheers" (1982-1993). After working as an editor on such '90s comedy shows as "Seinfeld "and "Wings" (on which he worked alongside some of his old "Cheers" colleagues), Chakos enjoyed a consistent run of assembling various episodes of sitcoms that included "Partners," "Fired Up," "Men Behaving Badly," and the Lea-Thompson-starring "Caroline in the City." Beginning with the celebrated "Will & Grace," Chakos expanded his regular role to editor-cum-producer, becoming a behind-the-scenes force in all aspects on such shows as the 20-something sitcom "The Class" and the runaway geek-chic hit "The Big Bang Theory." Chakos has been lauded as one of the top editors in his field for his specialized ability to enrich (and sometimes construct) timings and through lines in the context of a multi-camera set up. He also occasionally directs episodes of such sitcoms as the aforementioned "Caroline" and "Big Bang."
