Biography
R L Burnside brought his musical talents to a variety of films over the course of his Hollywood career. L Burnside worked on a variety of projects during his early entertainment career, including "Deep Blues" (1991) starring Jack "Big" Johnson, "Forces of Nature" with Sandra Bullock (1999) and "Richard Wright: Black Boy" (PBS, 1995-96). He also contributed to "The Real World" (MTV, 1991-2015). In the early 2000s and the 2010s, L Burnside's music continued to appear on the silver screen, including in films like the comedy "Dawg" (2003) with Elizabeth Hurley, the dramatic adaptation "Footloose" (2011) with Kenny Wormald and "Miral" (2011) with Hiam Abbass. L Burnside's music was most recently featured in the Ryan Reynolds drama "Mississippi Grind" (2015). L Burnside passed away in September 2005 at the age of 79.
