Peter F Bringmann
About
Biography
Biography
German director of commercial genre films for both cinemas and television. As such, Bringmann's work stands in direct opposition to the more controversial and experimental "New German Cinema" of such international art-house names as Fassbinder, Wenders, Kluge, von Trotta and Herzog. His "Theo gegen den Rest der Welt/Theo Against the Rest of the World" (1980), an adventure comedy starring rock singer Marius Muller-Westernhagen, broke boxoffice records throughout Germany and its director and star have since re-teamed for "Der Schneemann/The Snowman" (1985).
