Biography

An actor known for her portraits of comic and/or offbeat characters, Kellie Bright made her feature film debut in 2002's "Ali G Indahouse," the movie incarnation of Sacha Baron Cohen's TV character. By then, Bright had been in the business for many years, making a smooth transition from child star that began when she was nine years old and drew raves for her work as Little Collette in the production of "Les Miserable" in London's West End. That performance led to Bright virtually growing up in front of television cameras, first in children's programming like the BBC series "Maid Marian and her Merry Men," then as a teenager in the sitcom "The Upper Hand." The latter was a British adaption of the American sitcom "Who's the Boss?," with Bright playing the housekeeper's daughter (portrayed across the Atlantic by Alyssa Milano). In "Ali G Indahouse," Bright used her knack for broadly drawn comedy to portray "MeJulie," the girlfriend of Ali G, who must put up with his sexual needs, infidelities, and intrigues. Bright returned to TV after that, portraying lesbian prison inmate Cassie Tyler in "Bad Girls," but she was also seen in the fetish-themed film"Kinky Boots" and the bisexual romance "Imagine Me & You ," both in 2005.
