Greene found his beginnings in film with roles in the Ivan Dixon drama "Nothing But a Man" (1964) and the Sidney Poitier comedy "For Love of Ivy" (1968). Greene began to focus on film after appearing in the drama "Lord Shango" (1974) with Lawrence Cook and the drama "E'Lollipop" (1975) with Jose Ferrer. Later in his career, Greene acted in the musical "The Wiz" (1978) with Diana Ross. Greene passed away in July 1981 at the age of 70.
