Biography
Joining ABC in 1978 after brief stints writing variety programs for several networks, Bloomberg developed variety programs, specials and after-hours programming for the network in the late 1970s. His first major success was the popular "That's Incredible!" (1980-84). Moving into sitcom development for ABC in the early 1980s, Bloomberg helped oversee the creation of "Webster", "Who's the Boss?", "The Wonder Years", "Roseanne", "Coach" and "Home Improvement". In 1989, he was named executive vice president for primetime during which he midwifed "Homefront" and "Civil Wars". Bloomberg was later promoted first to president, TV creative services and in June 1997 as chairman of ABC's entertainment division, with responsibilities for long-term strategies. He left that position in January 2002.
