Luciano Berio's musical talents have contributed to a variety of Hollywood productions. In 1947, he made his debut public performance as a pianist. In 1965, he began to teach at the Juilliard School, where he established the Juilliard Ensemble, which specialized in the performance of contemporary classical works. Berio's music was featured in "Le Rouge de Chine" (1978). His music was also used in "Metropoli" (1983). Later in his career, Berio appeared on the documentary "A Cat Without a Grin" (2002) with Simone Signoret. Berio was married to Cathy Berberian. Berio passed away in May 2003 at the age of 78.
