Marc Beland
Biography
Biography
Born and raised in Montreal, Marc Béland is a veteran theater actor and director who has occasionally appeared on television and in films. After a stint as a ballet dancer in the 1980s, he focused more on stage acting, with numerous featured roles in various productions, including Shakespeare adaptations. Following a supporting part in Patrice Leconte's lauded period French-Canadian drama "The Widow of Saint-Pierre" (2000), starring Juliette Binoche and Daniel Auteuil, Béland juggled theater performances primarily with TV roles. Eventually he contributed a key turn in the domestic drama "2 fois une femme" (2010), with Evelyne Rompré. A few years later, Béland landed one of his most applauded parts of his career as a volatile father in "La Cicatrice" (2012), which also featured a tightly wound performance from Patrick Goyette.
