Phyllis Avery was an actress who starred in a number of impressive television shows. Biography

Phyllis Avery was an actress who starred in a number of impressive television shows. Avery worked on a variety of projects during her early entertainment career, including "Ruby Gentry" (1953), "The Best Things in Life Are Free" (1956) and "The Doctor" (NBC, 1951-53). She also contributed to "The George Gobel Show" (NBC, 1954-59). Several more television roles followed in the fifties and the seventies, including stints on "Clear Horizon" (CBS, 1959-1962) and "Mr. Novak" (NBC, 1963-65). Her work around this time also included a part on the TV movie "The Last Child" (ABC, 1971-72). In the latter part of her career, she tackled roles on "Charlie's Angels" (ABC, 1976-1981) and "Coach" (1988-1997). She also appeared in the Whoopi Goldberg comedy "Made in America" (1993). Avery last acted in the drama "Unglued" (1999) with Linda Hamilton. Avery passed away in May 2011 at the age of 89.
