Gifford's earliest roles were in film, including the Alan Alda comedy "California Suite" (1978), "Halloween II" (1981) and the Nick Nolte action movie "48 HRS." (1982). She also appeared in "D.C. Cab" (1983) with Max Gail, the Rob Reiner comedy "This Is Spinal Tap" (1984) and "Big Trouble" (1985) with Peter Falk. Her film career continued throughout the eighties and the nineties in productions like the comedic fantasy "Vice Versa" (1988) with Judge Reinhold, the Diane Keaton drama "The Good Mother" (1988) and the William Baldwin comedy "Three of Hearts" (1993). She also appeared in the TV special "Tales From the Whoop: Hot Rod Brown, Class Clown" (Nickelodeon, 1990-91). She also was featured in the TV movie "Under Pressure" (HBO, 1998-99). Gifford most recently acted on "Rita Rocks" (Lifetime, 2008-2010).
