Biography

Independent filmmaker Kristen Baker attended film school at the University of Central Florida and cut her teeth as a crew member on over a dozen short films as an art director, set dresser and property master. Her sole credit as a writer and director to date is the 2008 short "Monsieur Tall & Stella," which tells the story of little girl with two imaginary friends--a mime and a girl in a bear costume--she needs to outgrow. Shot for a mere $900, the film was well-received at a number of film festivals for both adults and children. In 2009 Baker added associate producer to her resume with the drama "The Miseducation of Simon Kraus," the story of a painter who finds himself caught up in a web of love and intrigue while trying to complete his portfolio. That same year she crafted miniature models for the offbeat short "MacGuffins & Monsters," a sword-and-sorcery comedy about a warrior, a druid, and a wizard who dare tp venture into a perilous forest. Alongside her independent endeavors, Baker works at Orlando's Bluesilver Video Productions, a company specializing in recording, editing and preparing DVDs of everything from weddings to political ads.
