Biography
Gilberte Geniat was an actress who had a successful Hollywood career. Geniat started off her career in film with roles in the Robert Dhery comedy "La Belle Americaine" (1961), the Jeanne Moreau dramatic adaptation "Diary of a Chambermaid" (1964) and "Woman in Chains" (1968). Geniat next focused her career on film, appearing in "La Dame dans l'auto avec des lunettes et un fusil" (1970) with Samantha Eggar, the Bernadette Lafont comedy "Such a Gorgeous Kid Like Me" (1972) and the drama "The Lacemaker" (1976) with Isabelle Huppert. She also appeared in the comedy "Get Out Your Handkerchiefs" (1979) with GĂ©rard Depardieu and the comedy "American Dreamer" (1984) with JoBeth Williams. Later in her career, Geniat acted in the Fernando Rey drama "Hotel du Paradis" (1986).
