Since the mid-1990s, screenwriter/producer David Amann has quietly built up a strong resume working on a number of quality, gripping serial television series and movies. His first projects were the murder mystery "The Man Who Wouldn't Die"--starring Roger Moore and Malcolm McDowell, and directed by Bill Condon--and the identity thriller "Dead Air"--starring Gregory Hines. Afterward, Amann worked on the medical drama "Chicago Hope" for a few episodes. But it was with his work on the hit show "The X-Files" that Amann hit his stride as a writer and producer. When "The X-Files" ended in 2002, Amann worked on the medical crime drama "Crossing Jordan" for three seasons. "Without a Trace" was an even bigger success for Amann, and he worked on that crime drama for a number of years. He went on to contribute his skills as a top-notch producer and writer of vivid genre work to such series as the short-lived medical drama "Three Rivers" and the comedy/mystery show "Castle" starring cult figure Nathan Fillion.
