Biography
Benjamin Frankel produced music that was featured in many Hollywood productions. Frankel began his entertainment career with his music featured in films like "Love in Exile" (1936), the adventure "Fire Over Africa" (1954) with Maureen O'Hara and the Deborah Kerr dramatic adaptation "The End of the Affair" (1955). His music also appeared in "The Man Who Loved Redheads" (1955) starring Moira Shearer and "The Prisoner" (1955) with Alec Guinness. In the fifties, Frankel's music continued to appear on the silver screen, including in films like the dramatic adaptation "A Kid For Two Farthings" (1956) with Celia Johnson, "Simon and Laura" (1956) with Peter Finch and the drama "Storm Over the Nile" (1956) with Laurence Harvey. His work was also in "The Iron Petticoat" (1956). Frankel's music was also featured in "Libel" (1959) starring Dirk Bogardethe Yul Brynner crime adaptation "Surprise Package" (1960) and the adaptation "The Curse of the Werewolf" (1961) with Clifford Evans. His music was also featured in the comedic adventure "Summer of the Seventeenth Doll" (1961) with Ernest Borgnine and the Leslie Caron drama "Guns of Darkness" (1962). Most recently, Frankel worked on the drama "Battle of the Bulge" (1965) with Henry Fonda. Frankel was nominated for a Best Original Score - Motion Picture Golden Globe Award for "Battle of the Bulge" in 1965. Frankel passed away in February 1973 at the age of 67.
