Biography
Fred Asparagus was an actor with a strong presence in film throughout his Hollywood career. Asparagus's acting career began mostly with his roles in various films, such as "Surf II" (1984), the horror film "Terror in the Aisles" (1984) with Debbie Peterson and the comedy "This Is Spinal Tap" (1984) with Rob Reiner. He also appeared in "Breakin' 2 Electric Boogaloo" (1985) and the Chevy Chase comedy "Three Amigos!" (1986). Asparagus worked in television around the start of his acting career with a role on "Cheers" (NBC, 1982-1993). His film career continued throughout the eighties and the nineties in productions like the action picture "Dragnet" (1987) with Dan Aykroyd, the action flick "Fatal Beauty" (1987) with Whoopi Goldberg and "Colors" (1988) with Sean Penn. He also appeared in "Havana" (1990). He also worked in television during these years, including a part on "Roseanne" (ABC, 1988-1997). Recently, he continued to act in the action movie "Beverly Hills Cop III" (1994) with Eddie Murphy, the Andy Garcia comedy "Steal Big, Steal Little" (1995) and the comedy adventure "Slappy and the Stinkers" (1998) with B.D. Wong. He also worked in television during these years, including roles in "Danger Theatre" (Fox, 1992-93) and "The John Larroquette Show" (NBC, 1993-97). Asparagus most recently acted in the Andy Garcia comedy "Just the Ticket" (1999).
