Al Foster was an actor who had a successful Hollywood career. Foster's early roles were in action films like "Rapid Fire" (1992) and "Sneakers" (1992) starring Robert Redford. He appeared in a number of television specials, including "Newport Jazz '88" (1988-89), "Miles and Friends" (1991-92) and "Carnegie Hall Salutes the Jazz Masters" (PBS, 1993-94). His work around this time also included a part on the TV movie "Tyson" (HBO, 1994-95). Following that project, he worked on "Diagnosis Murder" (1993-2001), "3rd Rock From the Sun" (NBC, 1995-2001) and "Providence" (NBC, 1998-2003). More recently, he tackled roles on "The District" (2000-04), "L.A. Dragnet" (2002-04) and "House" (Fox, 2004-2012). He also appeared in the Sanaa Lathan dramatic sports film "Love & Basketball" (2000). He also was featured in the TV movie "Wishmaster 2: Evil Never Dies" (HBO, 1998-99). Most recently, Foster acted on "Smith" (2006-07).
