Former theater director who found his form with the emergence of the Hungarian New Wave in the 1950s. Fabri's films usually explore anti-fascist themes and he is best remembered for "Merry-Go-Round" (1955) and "Professor Hannibal" (1956), his later work, with the exception of some intelligently made films on social issues in the 60s, has proved largely disappointing....
