Biography
Fred Essler was an actor who had a successful Hollywood career. Essler began his acting career with roles in such films as the comedic adaptation "Up in Arms" (1944) with Danny Kaye, the Fred MacMurray biopic "Captain Eddie" (1945) and "What Next, Corporal Hargrove?" (1945). He also appeared in "Where Do We Go From Here?" (1945) with Fred MacMurray and "Every Girl Should Be Married" (1948) with Cary Grant. His passion for acting continued to his roles in projects like the adventurous drama "The White Tower" (1950) with Glenn Ford, "The Girl in the Red Velvet Swing" (1955) and the action flick "Hot-Rod Girl" (1956) with Lori Nelson. He also appeared in the comedy "The First Traveling Saleslady" (1956) with Ginger Rogers. Film continued to be his passion as he played roles in the June Allyson comedy "My Man Godfrey" (1957), the dramatic adaptation "Ten North Frederick" (1958) with Gary Cooper and the Cary Grant comedy "That Touch of Mink" (1962). He also appeared in the Debbie Reynolds comedy adaptation "The Unsinkable Molly Brown" (1964). Essler more recently acted in "The Money Trap" (1966). Essler passed away in January 1973 at the age of 78.
