Biography

Best known for his role as Nog, the first Ferengi to join Starfleet, on "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine," Aron Eisenberg was born with a partially functioning kidney. The failing organ caused him a series of problems growing up, and ultimately stunted his growth, making him five foot tall. After a kidney transplant at 17, Eisenberg pursued his acting ambitions and landed his first television role on "Straight Up." The following year he made his film debut in the kidnapping comedy "Beverly Hills Brats," which featured Martin Sheen. Next, he was cast in the Lance Henriksen vehicle "The Horror Show," and went on to appear in a number of projects within the horror genre including: "Amityville: The Evil Escapes," "Tales from the Crypt," and"Puppet Master III: Toulon's Revenge." Then, in 1993, he landed the role of Nog on "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine," a part he would play for the seven-season run of the "Star Trek" spin-off. Much to the delight of "Star Trek" fans, Eisenberg occasionally makes appearances at comic cons and other pop culture media conventions, where fans can interact with their favorite Ferengi.
