Biography

Charlotte Arnold has been the quintessential mean girl of "Degrassi: The Next Generation." As Holly J. Sinclair, she barreled into the show's universe of teen angst and romance with all the grace of a rabid dog. Ferocious, manipulative, self-absorbed--her character exhibited few redeeming qualities when she joined the high school cast in 2007. Since then, Arnold found ways to soften the character of Holly, adding layers with which audiences can empathize. The potential for a more likeable character was always there; before "Degrassi: The Next Generation," Arnold played the sweet Sadie Hawthorne on "Naturally, Sadie," the TV series about a perceptive young girl with a heightened appreciation for the wants and needs of animals, and how understanding them can help us treat our fellow humans better as well. Arnold starred in several feature-film spin-offs of "Degrassi: The Next Generation," including "Degrassi Goes to Hollywood" and "Degrassi Takes Manhattan," but the depth and breadth of her work suggests that, even after she's naturally outgrown the role, there is much more awaiting Charlotte Arnold's career.
