Biography

Flora Anne Selina Montgomery was born on Jan. 4, 1974 in Greyabbey, County Down, Northern Ireland. In 1994, Montgomery graduated from the Gaiety School of Acting, after which she kicked off a career of acting for the screen. She made her professional debut with a small role in one episode the dramatic miniseries "The Governor" (ITV 1995-96), which led to a slew of other such minor parts on programs like "Bugs" (BBC 1996-99) and films like "The Perfect Blue" (1997). Montgomery's first recurring role came with the biographical miniseries "Mosley" (Channel 4 1998), on which she played 20th century noblewoman and philanthropist Lady Alexandra Curzon. After nabbing a titular role in the rom-com "When Brandon Met Trudy" (2000), meatier work began to accumulate for Montgomery. She landed a recurring part on the crime drama series "The Bill" (ITV 1984-2010) before going on to release a steady stream of films including the fantasy drama "The Discovery of Heaven" (2001) and the dramedy "Goldfish Memory" (2003). Also in the year 2003, Montgomery starred alongside Jonathan Pryce in a stage production of "The Reckoning." Meanwhile, she continued to appear on the big screen, namely in "Basic Instinct 2" (2006), a sequel to the 1992 hit, the horror films "After." (2006) and "The Daisy Chain" (2008), and the drama "Mother's Milk" (2011).
