Biography

Joined Creative Management Associates soon after graduating from Berkeley and rose from head of the talent agency's literary division to become president and later chairman of International Creative Management (ICM), the mega-agency formed by the merger of CMA and International Famous Agency in 1975. In recent years, Berg has expanded ICM increasingly into the international arena, encouraging co-financing and co- production deals with Western and East European countries, representing international clients involved in English-language films and seeking employment for ICM's clients in overseas productions.

With a talent roster which has included Woody Allen, Bob Barker, Peter Benchley, Carol Burnett, Macaulay Culkin, Billy Crystal, Nora Ephron, Jodie Foster, Richard Gere, Mel Gibson, Anthony Hopkins, Spike Lee, Eddie Murphy, Nick Nolte, Michelle Pfeiffer, Julia Roberts, Meg Ryan, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Tom Selleck, John Waters and Denzel Washington, Berg commands an agency second only to Michael Ovitz's Creative Artists Agency. Berg has also shown a prominent interest in the future of multimedia, and has been exploring ties between the talents of Hollywood for narrative, spectacle and entertainment in potentially making the upcoming ride on the "information superhighway" a more user-friendly one.
