A one-time comedy writer for Bob Hope, Mike Douglas and the syndicated satire "America2Night", Ludwin worked as a staff producer for WLS-TV in Chicago and WXYZ-TV in Detroit before helping to produce "Olympathon '79" and "America Alive!" for NBC. He joined the network shortly thereafter and made it to vice presidential status within three years. Eventually taking on responsibility for developing new and current variety series, late-night programming and specials, Ludwin has overseen or managed the production of such well-received NBC offerings as "Real People", "Unsolved Mysteries", "Motown 25: Yesterday, Today, Forever", "Later with Bob Costas", "Saturday Night Live" and "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno".
