Biography
As a central character in the 1998 breakout Guy Ritchie heist film, "Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels," Nick Moran triggered the action in the form of Eddy, a card shark whose efforts are foiled by some cheating opponents. The movie catapulted Moran's co-stars Jason Statham and Vinnie Jones to international prominence, but never quite did the same for Moran's performing career. In fact, he would have to wait more than a decade to land another opportunity on par with his participation in the Ritchie film. In the two-part finale "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows," he appears as Scabior, a snatcher who captures the famous trio of Harry, Ron Weasley, and Hermione Granger. Like most British actors, Moran is a product of the English theater. That's where he got his first chance to direct, something he was finally allowed to do on film in 2010 via the biopic "The Kid." Based on the rough-and-tumble autobiography of Kevin Lewis, the drama stars Ioan Gruffudd and Rupert Friend. Moran's other acting credits include the role of Aramis in the 2001 adventure film "The Musketeer."
