Biography

Comedy writer and producer Glenn Eichler has been closely associated with MTV since the very beginning of his career. After his work as an editor with "National Lampoon," he wrote and starred in a kids' show parody for the network in 1987 called "Quality Time with Uncle Spike." He followed that by penning an episode of the popular, politically incorrect sitcom"Married with Children" for FOX, a special with the "Mystery Science Theater" people, and two gigs for Nickelodeon--an episode of "Clarissa Explains It All" and two episodes for the animated series "Rugrats." He took naturally to the growing interest in more adult-oriented animation humor in the 1990s and began working with MTV again on the brilliantly idiotic "Beavis and Butt-Head" and his signature project, "Daria," taking time in between for a promotional episode for the third season of Jennifer Saunders's satire of excess, "Absolutely Fabulous." It was with the success from "Daria," a show about everyone's favorite cynical cartoon teen misfit, that Eichler gained his prominent footing in television comedy. He turned to even more satirical endeavors in 2007, this time of a strictly political nature, with the Comedy Central phenomenon of "The Colbert Report," a faux news program that has host Stephen Colbert hilariously lampoon modern-day conservatism.
