Biography
August Darnell brought his musical talents to a variety of films over the course of his Hollywood career. Darnell kicked off his entertainment career with features in films like the comedic adaptation "Casual Sex?" (1988) with Lea Thompson and the dramatic comedy "New York Stories" (1989) with Woody Allen. Though known first for his music, Darnell also acted in "Against All Odds" (1984) with Rachel Ward and the Virginia Hey thrilling mystery "Pathos" (1988). In the nineties, Darnell's music continued to appear on the silver screen, including in films like the Laurence Fishburne crime feature "Boyz N The Hood" (1991), the comedy "Kiss Me Guido" (1997) with Nick Scotti and "54" (1998) with Ryan Phillippe. Darnell's music was most recently featured in the animated feature "Shaun the Sheep Movie" (2015) with Justine Fletcher. Darnell continued to exercise his talent in the nineties and the early 2000s, taking on a mix of projects like "Mystery Men" (1999) starring Hank Azaria, "Summer of Sam" (1999) starring John Leguizamo and "Downtown 81" with Jean-Michel Basquiat (2001). His credits also expanded to "Be Kind Rewind" (2008).
