Biography

Ruby Dandridge's acting talents were showcased on the big screen many times throughout the course of her Hollywood career. Dandridge's career beginnings included film roles in the Ethel Waters adaptation "Cabin in the Sky" (1943), the action movie "Corregidor" (1943) with Otto Kruger and "Ladies of Washington" (1944). She went on to act in "Home in Oklahoma" (1946) with Roy Rogers, the musical "Three Little Girls in Blue" (1946) with June Haver and "Dead Reckoning" (1947). She also appeared in the Dennis Morgan musical "My Wild Irish Rose" (1947) and "Tap Roots" (1948) with Van Heflin. Later in her career, Dandridge acted in the Frank Sinatra comedic adaptation "A Hole in the Head" (1959). Dandridge passed away in October 1987 at the age of 87.
