Crawford began his career with roles in "Trottie True" (1949) and the Curt Jurgens dramatic adaptation "Bitter Victory" (1958). He then acted in the Raymond Massey drama "The Queen's Guards" (1963), "Julius Caesar" (1971) and "The Last of the Mohicans" (PBS, 1971-72). He also appeared in "Jimmy B. & Andre" (CBS, 1979-1980).
