Biography

John Collin was an accomplished actor who appeared in a variety of films throughout his Hollywood career. Collin's earliest roles were in film, including "The Pirates of Blood River" (1961), "Before Winter Comes" (1968) and the biopic drama "Star!" (1968) with Julie Andrews. He also appeared in "The Last Escape" (1970). His film career continued throughout the seventies in productions like the action picture "Innocent Bystanders" (1972) with Stanley Baker and "Man at the Top" (1973) with Kenneth Haigh. He also landed a role in the miniseries "Holocaust -- The Story of the Family Weiss" (1977-78). Toward the end of his career, he tackled roles in "Tess" (1980) and the Peter Graves action film "The Guns and the Fury" (1981). He held additional roles in television including a part on "Our Mutual Friend" (PBS, 1977-78). Collin more recently appeared on "The Photographers" (TBS, 1994-95).
