Biography

Claylene Jones worked on the high-profile '80s series "Fame," but it's her long-standing association with the nostalgic family serial "The Waltons" for which the TV writer and producer is best remembered. Jones started out as a production coordinator on "The Waltons," which depicted the lives of a rural Virginia family during the '20s and '30s, and quickly worked her way up to a producer credit on the long-running series. After the show was canceled in 1981, Jones helped write the TV movie sequel, "A Wedding on Walton's Mountain," which she produced along with "Mother's Day on Walton's Mountain" and "A Day for Thanks on Walton's Mountain." She next joined the production staff of "Boone," a short-lived series about the tense relationship between a musically-inclined teenager and his strict father, and later worked on the influential high school series "Fame," which featured noted choreographer Debbie Allen as the teacher of a group of talented students at the prestigious New York City High School for the Performing Arts. Jones has since helped produce the generational drama "Morningstar/Eveningstar" and written several episodes of the Tony Danza sitcom "Who's the Boss?."
