Biography
Joseph Murphy was an actor who had a successful Hollywood career. He also was featured in the miniseries "Christopher Columbus" (1984-85). He also starred in the TV movies "The Day Christ Died" (CBS, 1979-1980) and "Never Forget" (TNT, 1990-91). During the early stages of his Hollywood career, Murphy mainly held acting roles in films like the Pia Zadora drama "The Lonely Lady" (1983). In the nineties, Murphy devoted his time to various credits, such as "Passenger 57" (1992), "Sister, Sister" (Warner Bros. Television Network, 1993-99) and "Nash Bridges" (CBS, 1995-2001). He also worked on "Gods and Monsters" (1998) starring Ian McKellen. Recently, he tackled roles on "Sex and the City" (HBO, 1998-2004) and "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" (NBC, 1999-). Murphy's more recent roles included "Anything But Love" (2003) and the Kate Beckinsale drama "Nothing But the Truth" (2008). Murphy most recently worked on "Clash of the Commercials: USA vs. The World" (CBS, 2010-11).
