Jeff Lowell

Biography
Sporadically hopping between television series throughout the 1990s, Jeff Lowell was always looking for an outlet for his comedy. He began his career with a brief stint as a staff writer on the caustic sitcom "Cybill" before racking up writing credits on six episodes of the comedy series "The George Carlin Show." He jumped ship in 1995 to contribute to the sitcom "The Drew Carey Show," but the first place Lowell built even a semi-permanent home was on "Spin City," where he served as writer and producer for two seasons--a lifetime by comparison to his other gigs. Lowell penned four episodes while a part of the Michael J. Fox-led mayoral sitcom, but was still looking for greater success. He achieved it in 2006 in the form of the revenge comedy "John Tucker Must Die," for which he received the sole writing credit. With the come-and-go world of TV behind him, Lowell's next venture was to try his hand at directing. He recruited Eva Longoria and Paul Rudd for "Over Her Dead Body," a supernatural romance featuring the pair as two sides of an inter-dimensional love triangle. In 2009, Lowell wrote an early draft of the unleashed children's comedy "Hotel for Dogs," an adaptation of the novel by Lois Duncan.
