Biography
Bosnia-born beauty Ivana Milicevic moved to Michigan at age five and enjoyed a relatively typical suburban American upbringing, enriched by a modeling career that took her to fashion shoots in Chicago during her summer breaks. A natural performer, Milicevic moved to Los Angeles in pursuit of an acting career after graduating early from high school in 1992. Struggling for decent acting jobs, the actress decided to try stand-up comedy on a whim, and won over crowds with her tales of the modeling business and talent for physical comedy. In 1996, the striking, dark-haired performer made her film debut with a one-line role as a former girlfriend of "Jerry Maguire" (Tom Cruise) in Cameron Crowe's hit romance. She followed up with a guest role on "Seinfeld" (NBC) and a turn in the supernatural ABC TV-movie "Devil to Pay" the following year. Still a relative unknown, Milicevic returned to the big screen with a small role in the spy thriller "Enemy of the State" in 1998, the same year that she had her first series regular role. Unfortunately, Milicevic debuted in "The Army Show," an uninspired sitcom that had a short run on The WB. Later in 1998, she began a recurring role on the network's college-set drama "Felicity." The next year, two of her feature acting roles skipped the theater and bowed on cable ("Postmortem" on Cinemax and "Kiss the Sky" on The Movie Channel), but by 2001 she was back with a memorable turn as a Russian model in the unimpressive romantic mystery "Head Over Heels." Milicevic reteamed with Crowe and Cruise for "Vanilla Sky" later in 2001 but her regular role on the highly-touted HBO series "The Mind of the Married Man" (2001-02) would prove the boost Milicevic's career needed, the actress becoming instantly notable thanks to the eyebrow-raising role her character plays in her boss' fantasies. Following supporting roles in the romantic comedies "Down With Love" (2003) and "Love Actually" (2003), Milicevic appeared in the James Bond reboot "Casino Royale" (2006) and had a co-starring role in the series "12 Miles of Bad Road," which was created by Linda Bloodworth-Thomason for HBO 2007 but disrupted by the 2007-08 writers strike; although half a dozen episodes were shot, the series never aired. Milicevic co-starred in the Anna Faris romantic comedy "What's Your Number?" (2011), starred in the horror reboot "The Howling: Reborn" (2011) and reteamed with Crowe for a small role in "Aloha" (2015). Also during this period, Milicevic starred in the cable action drama "Banshee" (Cinemax 2013-16).
