Biography
Brian Boitano was an actor who had a successful Hollywood career. He appeared in a number of television specials, including "An Evening of Championship Skating" (1986-87), "Skating Spectacular 1987" (PBS, 1986-87) and "U.S. Figure Skating Championships" (ABC, 1987-88). He also appeared in "Calgary '88: The Olympic Adventure Begins" (ABC, 1987-88). He also contributed to a variety of television specials, including "Skates of Gold III" (1995-96), "State Farm U.S. Figure Skating Championships" (ABC, 1995-96) and "Thrifty Car Rental Skating Spectacular" (ABC, 1995-96). He also appeared in the Will Ferrell hit sports comedy "Blades of Glory" (2007). Additionally, he could be seen on a variety of television specials like "World Figure Skating Championships Presented By Mastercard" (1997-98), "Brian Boitano's Skate Against Hate" (USA, 1998-99) and "Ice Wars: U.S.A. vs. the World" (CBS, 1998-99). He also appeared in "Brian Boitano's Holiday Skating Spectacular" (NBC, 1998-99). Most recently, Boitano appeared in "Brian Boitano Skating Spectacular" (Hallmark Channel, 2009-2010). Boitano won an Outstanding Performance In Classical Music/Dance Programming Primetime Emmy Award for "Carmen on Ice" in 1990. Boitano was nominated for an Outstanding Choreography Primetime Emmy Award for "Ice Wars: U.S.A. Vs. the World" in 2000.
