Actress-musician Rita Marley made a splash in Hollywood both on and off-screen for more than three decades. Marley began her acting career appearing mainly in films, such as the Bob Marley documentary "Bob Marley and The Wailers LIVE!" (1978), the Dr. Helen Caldicott documentary "In Our Hands" (1983) and "Cool Runnings: The Reggae Movie" (1986). She also appeared in the Denzel Washington drama "The Mighty Quinn" (1989). She had a part on the television special "A Reggae Session" (Cinemax, 1987-88). She also contributed to a variety of television specials, including "Concert of the Americas" (1994-95), "One Love: The Bob Marley All-Star Tribute" (TNT, 1999-2000) and "Bob Marley: Rebel Music" (PBS, 2000-01). Marley continued to exercise her talent in the early 2000s and the 2010s, taking on a mix of projects like "How High" with Method Man (2001), "Africa Unite" (2008) and "Rocksteady: The Roots of Reggae" with Stranger Cole (2010). Her credits also expanded to "The Social Network" (2010). Marley most recently appeared on the documentary "Marley" (2012) with Bob Marley.
