Biography

Known for lending his voice as well as his image to the worlds of film and television, American actor Eli Marienthal has worked extensively in both animation and live-action projects. After acting on the stage during early childhood, the California native made his screen debut in the 1996 made-for-TV movie "Unlikely Angel," starring Dolly Parton, and he went on to appear in the independent films "First Love, Last Rites," a drama starring Natasha Gregson Wagner, and "Slums of Beverly Hills," a comedy featuring Natasha Lyonne and Alan Arkin. Marienthal had a banner year in 1999 with his supporting part in the hugely successful teen comedy "American Pie," portraying the younger brother of Seann William Scott's character, Steve Stifler, and he provided the voice for Hogarth Hughes, the young lead in Brad Bird's animated classic "The Iron Giant," which also featured the vocal talents of Vin Diesel and Jennifer Aniston. After starring in the short-live sitcom "Tucker," Marienthal reprised his role as Stifler's brother in "American Pie 2" and also appeared in the Disney family comedy "The Country Bears." Continuing to voice animated characters, he worked on the sci-fi show "The Zeta Project" and also portrayed the young superhero Robin in an episode of "Static Shock" and the movie "Batman: Mystery of the Batwoman." Following his supporting turn in the 2004 Lindsay Lohan comedy "Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen," Marienthal took a break from acting, eventually resurfacing in a 2009 episode of the hit sitcom "The Big Bang Theory."
