Antwon Tanner
Biography
Biography
Best known for his role as Anton "Skills" Taylor on the teen drama series "One Tree Hill," Antwon Tanner steadily built an extensive resume since the late '90s, playing good-natured jocks and streetwise youths that echoed the actor's own background as an athlete and musician in South Side Chicago. After an early stint as a high-school basketball star, Tanner began pursuing music, his charismatic stage presence and good looks eventually dovetailing into a budding career as an actor. After small roles in early '00s sitcoms "Moesha" and "Sister, Sister," Tanner secured recurring roles on the drama series "Boston Public," "The District," and "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation." Bit parts in films such as "Coach Carter" (2005) and "Brothers In Arms" (2005) helped raise his profile at the box office, but Tanner's most enduring role continues to be his nearly seven-year run on "One Tree Hill." On April 16, 2009, Tanner was arrested for his connection to a Social Security defrauding scheme and was sentenced to three months in prison.
